Security Director
As the Security Director at DUS, Steven Hall maintains a pivotal oversight role over field employees and operational activities. His responsibilities include active participation in weekly corporate security meetings, the Executive Safety Board, as well as executing field visits. Steven plays a critical role in making hiring decisions and is deeply involved in the daily management of security, medical, and fire service operations.
Steven boasts a distinguished educational and professional background. He completed his BS in Natural Resource Management from the University of Alaska Fairbanks before embarking on a notable career in law enforcement, which culminated in his retirement at the rank of Colonel with the Alaska Wildlife Troopers. His career progression through the ranks is marked by leadership roles within the Alaska Wildlife Troopers in various capacities and locations. Steven has also enhanced his knowledge with specialized training at the National Association of Conservation Law Enforcement Chiefs Leadership Academy and the Southern Police Institute.
Steven’s diverse skillset encompasses personnel and budget management, staff development, team building, and emergency management, among others. His certifications are numerous, including in firearms, defensive tactics, and as a vessel operator/trainer. His contributions have been recognized through awards such as Supervisor of the Year and Trooper of the Year. Steven is not only a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Alaska State Troopers but also actively involved in community service, contributing as a baseball coach and a merit badge counselor for the Boy Scouts of America.
