Maria Bourne
President & Chief Executive Officer
As President and CEO of Denali Universal Services (DUS), Maria Bourne leads with a deep commitment to the community’s prosperity. Since assuming the role in 2021, she has successfully managed a diverse range of security and facility management teams, set strategic company policies, and cultivated relationships with key stakeholders. Her leadership is greatly informed by her financial management background, giving her the ability to balance visionary projects with their practical implications and associated costs.
Maria’s academic credentials include a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Alaska Anchorage. She is a Certified Public Accountant in Alaska and has completed additional certifications through KPMG Business School, including as a national instructor, quality performance reviewer, and people management leader. Her professional journey includes significant contributions as DUS’s Senior Vice President and CFO, where she oversaw business development and financial operations, and prior to that, a role as a senior manager of auditing at KPMG.
Beyond her professional acumen, Maria is actively involved in the community, serving on The Alliance’s Board of Directors and as an Investor Council Member at the Anchorage Economic Development Corporation. Her efforts in these roles support economic growth, a favorable business climate, and the responsible development of Alaska’s natural resources. Fluent in Russian and English, Maria is a skilled communicator and has taught as an adjunct professor at the University of Alaska Anchorage since 2022, where she extends her expertise to the next generation of financial professionals. Her commitment to community service earned her one of Alaska’s Top 40 Under 40 award in 2023.
