Chief Financial Officer

Katherine Burrill serves as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Denali Universal Services, where her role is crucial in providing fiduciary oversight and supporting operations. She manages the company’s financial operations, including overseeing operating results, capital expenditures, and adherence to contract budgetary terms and legal reviews. Katherine plays a key role in the growth and development of DUS, ensuring transparency in client relations through timely reporting and tracking cost reductions, affirming the company’s commitment to its clients and contracts.

Katherine earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with concentrations in Accounting and Finance from Gonzaga University’s School of Business Administration. Her professional background is marked by over a decade of experience as an Audit Senior Manager at KPMG. During her tenure, she was responsible for delivering technical accounting services. She gained an in-depth understanding of regulatory frameworks such as PCAOB and AICPA rules, as well as the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act. Katherine has supported clients in many industries, including Alaska Native Corporations, financial institutions, insurance companies, healthcare, and telecommunications organizations. She has assisted clients with implementing new accounting standards, including revenue recognition, leases, and employee benefits. Katherine has taught numerous trainings on technical accounting to clients and other community members, as well as to other KPMG professionals.

Beyond her professional expertise, Katherine is actively involved in the community, contributing her financial acumen by serving as Chair on Camp Fire Alaska’s Board of Directors and Immediate Past Chair of Special Olympics Alaska’s Board of Directors. She also volunteers frequently with her children’s school and sports clubs. Katherine is also a dedicated wife and mother to two active children and three dogs.
